AI Paragraph Rewriter

Rewrite a paragraph for clarity while keeping its meaning and voice. Mother can suggest a tighter version, a more formal one or a warmer one. Specify what must not change, especially numbers, qualifications and the difference between a promise and a possibility.

What to provide

Paste the paragraph, say who will read it and identify the problem: repetition, vague wording, tone or structure. Include the surrounding sentence if a pronoun or transition depends on it. Set a length target and name words that must stay. For technical or legal text, ask for conservative edits instead of a complete rewrite.

Example starting request

Rewrite this workplace update for clarity, not sales language: "We are currently in the process of looking into the possibility of moving the launch date, as testing has brought up some issues that might need more time." Keep the uncertainty: the date has not changed yet. Give one concise version and one warmer version, then explain the edits. Do not invent a new date or imply testing is finished.

Worked example

Illustrative example, not a generated result or a user transcript.

Original: “We are currently in the process of looking into the possibility of moving the launch date, as testing has brought up some issues that might need more time.” Revision: “We are considering moving the launch date because testing has revealed issues that may take longer to resolve.”

“Considering” removes padding without announcing a decision. “May” preserves uncertainty about the time needed, and no replacement date is invented. Warmer alternative: “We want to give testing enough time, so we are considering moving the launch date to address issues that may take longer to resolve. The launch date has not changed.” Both versions keep the decision open; the second states the unchanged date explicitly. Meaning audit: Who acts? We. What is decided? Nothing yet. Why consider a change? Testing found issues. What remains uncertain? How long resolution takes. Use the same four questions on your revision, then check every number and qualifier. If a polished rewrite changes the message, ask for one changed clause at a time with the original and revised meaning beside it; reject the changed claim before trying another tone. Reject a rewrite such as “The launch is delayed until next week”: it sounds decisive but adds facts absent from the original.

Check the answer

Compare the revision line by line with the original. Check that it keeps the same actor, timeline and level of certainty. Concise wording can accidentally turn a tentative plan into a commitment or remove an important exception. Keep a change explanation if you need approval from another author. Keep citations attached to the claims they support, and retain quotation marks around words that must remain exact. A rewrite improves expression; it does not verify the underlying facts or guarantee originality.
